Important notice

Notice concerning the temporary halt to personal reception and the current procedure for the submission of personal inquiries

 

Considering the current epidemiological situation, as of September 10th 2020, the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (hereinafter referred to as “The Authority”) shall, for an undetermined period, halt its following reception tasks:

  • Granting access to files of any authority procedures for data protection.
  • Submission of complaints considering unlawful processing of personal data or infringements to the right to access data related to public interest.

 

1. For the submission of written requests for an authority procedure for data protection, subjects may:

  • Send their request in writing.
  • Hand in their request in person at the office of The Authority, at Falk Miksa utca 9-11, 1055 Budapest every Tuesday and Thursday between 9 and 11 o' clock.

When handing in a request in person, please contact us in advance via one the following telephone numbers: +36-30-683-5969 or +36-30-549-6838.

2. Regarding currently ongoing authority procedures for data protection, subjects may:

  • Send their submissions in writing.
  • Hand in their request in person following the aforementioned instructions.

Subjects who can neither send their submissions in writing, nor visit our office can send an e-mail to our general e-mail address (Ez az e-mail-cím a szpemrobotok elleni védelem alatt áll. Megtekintéséhez engedélyeznie kell a JavaScript használatát.) containing their electronic signature using the AVDH-service. You can register for this service via the following hyperlink: https://regi.ugyfelkapu.magyarorszag.hu/

Please note that this service is only available in Hungarian, however it is not reserved for Hungarian citizens only.

3. Inquiries that do not concern authority procedures for data protection, such as general questions related to privacy law, can be submitted by the following methods:

  • Electronically via The Authority's e-mail address: Ez az e-mail-cím a szpemrobotok elleni védelem alatt áll. Megtekintéséhez engedélyeznie kell a JavaScript használatát. (no electronic signature needed);
  • Via The Authority's on-line request form, at http://online.naih.hu/EMS/Home;
  • Per mail containing an authentic signature, sent to The Authority's postal address (1374 Budapest, Pf. 603.);
  • Written note handed in in person at the reception of The Authority, every Tuesday and Thursday between 9 and 11 o' clock.

The Authority would like to remind everyone that entry to the office is solely allowed when wearing a medical, textile or otherwise professional mouth and nose covering face mask, as is required by government decree.
